In the past few years I’ve seen a number of my younger friends getting married and setting up home together. What I’ve noticed over the years is that more and more couples are making it a point to have fun at their own wedding. This should be obvious, but it isn’t. I remember in the not too distant past that even dancing was frowned upon because it wasn’t quite “done” at what is supposedly a smart wedding. Thankfully, this mentality is changing. In fact, some of the best weddings I’ve attended were those where everyone let go and enjoyed themselves, led by a bride and groom who are not bothered about “what people will think”. The common thread in these fun weddings is that the bride is down-to-earth and doesn’t get herself all tied up in knots over silly things. Usually, if the bride is level-headed and doesn’t turn into what has become known as a “bridzilla” then the groom follows suit. But if the bride freaks out because a little detail has gone wrong then look out, there is the danger that the whole day will be ruined for everyone. The sad thing is the she is usually the only one who has noticed this minor glitch because she has been planning this day since she was 6. So, if you are reading this as a bride-to-be, and feel yourself getting upset because things are not exactly as you want them, just take a few minutes to stop and breath. Is what you are worrying about really that important? Is it a very big issue? Or is something trivial like the colour of the flowers not matching the invitations? Or the style of your mother-in-law’s dress clashing with that of your own mother? Believe me, as someone who has been to many weddings, and seen photos of many more – no one will really notice, no one will care. It’s your day, it’s your wedding, so relax and try to enjoy it.

Couples who attended sampled great catering food on Sunday 1st April 2007 between 11am and 8pm. Cordina Outside Catering by Cafe Cordina held an Open Day at Torre Paulina, Madliena Road in Madliena.
Cordina Outside Catering Menus start from Lm4.50 per person. Special offers included free nights at the Corinthia Marina, free chocolate fountain and discounted fees on selected venues.

Vassallo & Xuereb Ltd participated in the Spring-Fair at MFCC Ta`Qali from the 10th till the 13th of April (both days inclusive) at Stand B14, where various discounts were be offered on all iron works.
Issued with The Sunday Times, this was a special edition of the Sunday Circle entirely dedicated to Weddings & Homes. Not to be missed!
One could read about over-the-top celebrations at famous people’s weddings, Malta’s most idyllic churches and chapels to get married in, a special feature about spring gardening by Maurice Mizzi and get a glimpse of the way our homes will be built in the future.

Traditional Maltese Wedding @ Buskett
Saturday 28th June
The Malta Council for Culture and The Arts invited the sub committee for culture within St. Catherine Musical Society of Zurrieq to repeat the re-enactment of the Traditional Maltese Wedding during the Imnarja Festivities at Buskett next Saturday 28th June at 11.00pm. The wedding ceremony will take place on stage followed by a wedding march that will take the wedding party around the gardens later.
